The Tumor.

PLEASE NOTE SOME PHOTOS BELOW MAY BE DISTURBING TO OTHERS

On Tuesday Kingsley went to see his favorite groomer as he does every 3-4 weeks.

His groomer found a "lump" though, on his ankle, that wasn't there the last time she saw him.  She showed me, and my heart immediately sank into my stomach.  I remembered though Winston's cyst was nothing to worry about so I tried to calm myself down.  However, when I looked at the photos I had taken of Winnie's cyst, I felt worse.  I could tell it was likely a tumor, and was glad I could get right in on Wednesday to have a vet look at his ankle.  Here is a photo of the tumor.

On Wednesday at the Vet's I could tell right away they were concerned.  The growth was a tumor which they x-rayed and then used a needle to draw out some of the "fluid" and look at under a microscope.  Unfortunately, they saw a lot of malignant cells combined with eonsinophilis cells which is leading them to think it is Mast Cell Tumor.

Kingsley stayed over night to have the tumor removed (with laser surgery).  They sent it in for biopsy which will take 7-10 days (but with the weekend added in, it's likely to be 9-12 days).  He's on Deremaxx and Cephalexin for now, and we'll be seeing an Oncologist this Sunday at Hickory Veterinary Hospital to get a head start on what the next step could be, and for her to meet Kingsley.

For now he's in a cone, and we're focusing on getting his leg to heal well.  <3 Prayers welcome <3
