Kingsley had a great day, of new experiences! We started off rather normal and around lunch time we went on our first walk in the neighborhood. He did wonderful! He's still getting used to walking on the left only but he doesn't pull or lag behind! He was a tiny bit worried by a very loud lawn mower that was only about 2 - 3 feet away from him but only hesitated one step and never looked back! We stopped for a good rub down and treat of course! He also also passed a golden retriever puppy playing WILDLY with a young girl. He didn't think twice about them! We only walked a short distance and I'm glad we chose to turn around when we did because he was definitely worn out about 5 houses before our home! On our way down our hill, PAD Biscotti and his trainers were walking up to meet us! Even though Biscotti and Gretel were typical thrilled labradors to see each other (Biscotti barked a few times, and Gretel whined) Kingsley just kept walking and focusing! We allowed he and Biscotti to meet (first chocolate lab) and they both were friendly and eager to go back to walking!
He spent some time in his crate then (first time being crated while I teach) and settled down after a bit of fussing. When class was over we brought Kingsley and PAY Rayhill out to play.
Kingsley also got to socialize with the first toddler that I know of! He did really well and was much more gentle than your average puppy!
And in some general service dog news - today is a day to CELEBRATE!! Governor Tom Corbett signed in the PA House Bill 165 today - making it official!!
Service dogs and their users are now protected under Pennsylvania LAW from abuse and attacks! Read the official document HERE!
Kingsley feels much safer now and says THANK YOU PENNSYLVANIA! ! !
